Course Description
This continuing education course provides a comprehensive review of nonvascular interventional imaging procedures, including nephrostomy, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography, vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty, myelography, cholecystostomy, percutaneous ablation, and percutaneous biopsy. Emphasis is placed on relevant anatomy and pathophysiology, clinical indications and contraindications, patient assessment and preparation, imaging guidance, procedural technique, equipment and device selection, radiation safety, complication recognition, postprocedural care, and the role of the radiologic technologist. The course is designed to strengthen the imaging professional’s understanding of how ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and other modalities are integrated into minimally invasive procedures while promoting safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
