Course Description

Thermal-based breast cancer screening is showing great promise with the continued development of thermal sensors and computer-aided software. Abnormalities identified with thermal imaging are among the earliest signs of a precancerous or cancerous lesion of the breast. Thermal imaging is noncontact, noninvasive, and since the cameras are small, very portable. In this chapter understand the difference between thermal imaging of the breast and mammography, the visual interpretation of thermal images and how computer-aided diagnostics impacts interpretation.
